But neither, says Bodie, can you afford to ignore financial matters or outsource them to professional advisors who are trying to sell you insurance or a mutual fund. Take your finances as seriously as you take major health decisions – you don’t have to be a doctor to do some research, ask the right questions, and get a second opinion."
