Katrina shut down New Orleans, so there is a new locale for the American Academy of Accounting and Finance annual conference.
Just announced:
"The American Academy of Accounting and Finance will hold its 12th annual meeting in St. Pete Beach, Florida, on December 8, 9, and 10, 2005."
For more information check out their website.

Hello, I clicked the link to visit the website, but the page didn't load. Does the Academy of Accounting still exist? Please send a response to linga.mcclair@il.proquest.com
I don't think so...the last journals were never published, but the authors paid a $90 publication fee......
John Gill is not listed in Jackson MS, and the Calcotes don't answer their phone. I think they disassociated themselves with the organization...too bad. I liked the AAAF........
The Organization is dead. The annual meetings were in December, and by now (September 23) we would have seen a call for papers.
Well John, is this organization still in operation or not.
Roger Calcotte died over a year ago. My understanding is that there was a dispute between the Gills and the Calcotte widow over journal rights. Gill said at the 2005 meetings that the journals were printed and they would be mailed out shortly after the meeting. They never were. I have emailed and called many times but can get no answer.
Gill is, according to their website, the Accounting Chair at Alcorn State University and I believe his office is at Natchez. That website is http://bschool.alcorn.edu
I have thought about trying to contact the Dean of the School of Business or the VPAA there, but I have held off so far.
John Gill said today(9/23/08) he is going to run the AAAF meeting in New Orleans the first week in Dec 2008.
